Description Forgotten User QtBI7gWTIh 2007-06-11 07:08:39 UTC
Hello,

when I start the system with "init 3 / root" and like to delete / recreate the
1.user (1000) with YaST2, I can't ? (change / test to LDAP)

YaST2 tell me, user is logged in ?

User was created on install time with auto login and with redirect the system mails.

I have to delete it manual, afterward i can create it in LDAP.

Are you able to delete the user manually: userdel $USER ?
Please attach output of 'users' while trying to delete the user.

Please reopen the bug if you can provide the needed information, thanks.

10.3 Alpha6

it is again not possible to delete a user in runlevel 3 and 5 ?

I have to go in runlevel 1, the I can delete the user, I have to reboot afterward.

When I switch back to runlevel 3 or 5, YaST2 tell me, the user exist (same UserName), when I like to recreate the account (LDAP). After a reboot it is possible to create the user.

it is #5

I'm not sure what do you want: the logs don't contain any mention about deleting your user. If you want to fix the problem that the user cannot be deleted from yast, you must try to delete it by yast and than save the y2logs.

YaST does this check to know if user is logged in:

"ps --no-headers -u <uid>"

so if this reports any process, user cannot be deleted.

Or do you have more users with the same UID?
Comment 8 Forgotten User QtBI7gWTIh 2007-08-01 14:52:57 UTC
It was only one user created on this time.

The user was deleted with YaST2 in runlevel 1 ??

Can't YaST2 write to the log in runlevel 1 ?

it was again createtd in runlev 3 with Yast2 LDAP.

I'm not sure. Anyway, I can't help you if you won't try to reproduce the problem.
