Description Volker Kuhlmann 2007-06-30 02:41:22 UTC
Entering the following default route to force a specific interface being used:

/etc/sysconfig/network/routes

default 10.1.1.1 0.0.0.0 eth-id-00:05:1c:0c:00:00

is possible in the popup from routing tab, tick expert configuration, click add button. Next time this configuration is edited, the yast parser sees the "default" word in /etc/sysconfig/network/routes and the entry is moved from the expert routing table into the "default gateway" drop-down box of the routing tab, discarding the interface specification.

A workaround is to replace "default" with "0.0.0.0".

Interface method is "traditional with ifup".
The same bug exists in 10.2 final.

Similar report already exists in our internal "feature request" database.
Comment 2 Michal Zugec 2007-08-15 15:36:29 UTC
Unfortunately this needs changes in UI which is not acceptable for Beta-phase.
Move to LATER (after 10.3)
Comment 3 Bugzilla Account Maintenance 2008-09-02 18:07:48 UTC
Because the LATER and REMIND resolutions have been removed, the resolution of this bug has changed from LATER to WONTFIX. If this bug needs to be reconsidered, reopen it and set a future "Target Milestone for Fix."
