Description Holger Sickenberg 2007-07-06 12:45:42 UTC
When installing pidgin yast wants to install NetworkManager.

Since it's also possible to use it without NetworkManager that does not make sense. Please fix dependencies.

James, maybe you can do the fix so we can just pull it in?
Comment 2 James Ogley 2007-08-09 09:32:23 UTC
[Long-term offline delay]

It's actually libpurple that requires it:
ldd /usr/lib/libpurple.so.0.0.2
[snip]
        libnm_glib.so.0 => /usr/lib/libnm_glib.so.0 (0xb7dab000)

It's picked up by Autoreqprov

This is now in Factory too incidentally.

Same problem in openSUSE 10.3 Beta 1
Comment 4 James Ogley 2007-08-14 14:10:02 UTC
Sorry but this just isn't a bug or if it is it belongs upstream.
Comment 6 Gary Ekker 2007-08-27 20:12:04 UTC
Michael would you take a look at this one?

Agreed. We can build without NetworkManager support, at the cost of losing features.

Doesn't seem worth it to me.
