Description Forgotten User --EoyBps8f 2007-07-18 12:53:12 UTC
When I open the source-module it downloads everytime all patch-xyz.xml files for sources that are set to "no refresh" and even for sources which are set to "no refresh" and de-activated.

Expected behaviour. Do not download any files that have already been downloaded once, i.e. are/could be in the cache. Or to put it the other way around: Only download files from a source that changed.

Apart from using bandwith, CPU and causes traffic, this makes YaST also look slow, since it does that everytime one opens the source-module, even if it was closed only a few seconds ago.

I think the same expected behaviour applies for the software-management module which sometimes even downloads the description-files of a source that is set to "no refresh". But I guess that is differnet bug though.

This problem is fixed in 10.3Alpha6+ (libzypp refactoring)

Yast still downloads e.g. filelist.xml.gz and primary... in 10.3 beta 1 every time it is opened, e.g. to install software or when setting up the online-update source. Even though it did that already 5 seconds before.

I'll file that into a separate bug.
