There is no way to install OpenSuSE 10.2 on some VIA processor equipped notebook. Every other distros - including SuSE 10.0 -  are O.K.

Mihaly, have you tried the other boot options like noacpi?

Hold down SHIFT during bootloader startup.
Latest 10.3 betas should be fine.
