Description Gary Ekker 2007-07-24 16:32:25 UTC
zypper shouldn't categorically provide and obsolete rug. Many of us are using the version of rug from http://software.opensuse.org/download/home:/snorp/ that depends on rcd and works with yum repositories.

It should obsolete versions of rug that are less than the current version that James has in his repo or we need some other solution so that I can have both installed at the same time.

Right. An unversioned obsoletes is a bug per-se.

Assigning to prjmgr to get his attention ;-)

Gary, is it OK to obsolete 10.2 version?

As I wrote in #297249, I think adding the obsoletes to zypper directly is wrong. It's even worse to have them unversioned, but I think obsoleting unrelated packages is bad policy.

Please remove that obsolete/provide completely - I'll find a different solution to remove rug in a 10.2-10.3 update

Done in zypper 0.8.8
