I updated to factory a couple of hours ago and rebooted, I get the following:

...
preping boot/84-mount.sh
running boot
Waiting for device /dev/disk/by-id/scsci-SATA_Maxtor_6B160M0_B41QFP3H-part2 to appear: ...........................not found -- exiting to /bin/sh


and I get dropped to a useless shell prompt.

Assume this is udev related.

Likely mkinitrd missed to include sd_mod. It should be fixed in STABLE.
