Description Hubert Figuiere 2007-08-08 18:33:48 UTC
the new package selector steal the focus each time it displays a dialog. That means if you install some packages, it will steal the focus TWICE at least.

<hub> 1/ yast open/close windows throughout the process of installing package
<hub> 2/ when it does, it make them the front most window

Can you explain a) what you expect to happen / what your use case is, b) what actually happens, and c) whether it happens with yast2-gtk removed and yast2-qt installed :-)

Thanks.

Use case:

open yast
select a good bunch of packages, something that will take a few minutes to install.
click accept to start installed.

switch to your code editor or terminal and start to work.

when all the packages are installed, if you haven't been interrupted by a window popping out or anything, then the bug is fixed. Otherwise it is not.

In 10.2 and before this didn't happen.

Hub; I just realized that while I don't see the problem; I'm using metacity from SLED10 SP1, and a chroot jail thing.

I wonder if it could be a metacity bug (or worse 'feature' ;-); is there a good way to test that ?

This is both with QT and GTK in GNOME. Happens both with Compiz and Metacity. Marking as duplicate.
