Description Nkoli Ukpabi 2007-08-20 04:34:15 UTC
Please consider combining the repository manager with the software manager. Updating repositories with libzypp in general takes way too long, so setting all repos to update each time the software manager runs is not very practical. An option to edit and update all or single repos inside the software manager module is much more intuitive than the current setup.

There could be a new item in the "Extra" menu in the package selector widget which would close it and return a special symbol (e.g. `repo_edit), 'sw_single' would start 'inst_source' client if it's returned and then it would start the package selection again.

I think it's a nice idea, when I start 'sw_single' and realize that I need to enable a repository I have to close 'sw_single', start 'inst_source', edit the repo, close and start 'sw_single' again...

This is implemented in openSUSE-11.0 (Use "Repositories" -> "Repository Manager" menu item or press Ctrl+M to start the repository manager from the package manager.)
