Description Juergen Weigert 2007-08-28 18:21:58 UTC
openSUSE Updater is meant to be a nonintrusive background proess.
With 10.2 it it had its space in the task-bar and restricted itself to that space. This was a good feature.
With 10.3 it once in a while says 'Updating ...' and obscures parts of the clock
and the lower righthand corner of the screen area while doing so.
There is no way to move or resize this 'Updating ...' window.
Usability team, please review User Experience on this window.

error popup from opensuse Updater

This window just appeared in the center of the screen.
It took focus, while I was typing.

Please agree with me, that such random popups are needlessly intrusive.

opensuse updater is now more silent on auto triggered actions. It only shows a progress popup window and messageboxes when the user has clicked "check now" or "install".
In automatically actions status is only shown by the icon. Error messages are displayed as tooltip and after a click in a window.

Fixed in svn r 7001.
