Description Jiri Dluhos 2007-08-30 09:53:41 UTC
When kdump is set up from YaST to create compressed dumps, the dump is not written correctly; a directory and a vmcore file is created, but is empty. (Non-compressed dumps work well.)

(There is some error message printed during dumping, but I was not able to read it in time, and it seems it was not written into message log; sorry.)

Could you send me the value for option KDUMP_DUMPFORMAT from /etc/sysconfig/kdump? Of course after writting yast2-kdump for choosing compressed format.

Thanks

1 month without any reaction...

The described error seems to be out of YaST.
