Description Jean Delvare 2007-09-01 12:18:47 UTC
On a fresh install of openSuse 10.3 beta 2, using KDE, when I run Yast to install additional packages, it crashes on me with:

YaST got signal 11 at YCP file /usr/share/YaST2/clients/inst_packages.ycp:39
/sbin/yast2: line 385: 9610 Segmentation fault $ybindir/y2base $module "$@" "$SELECTED_GUI" $Y2_GEOMETRY $Y2QT_ARGS

As a side note, it would probably be more helpful if the error messages contained resolved variables.

I tried to change the language, to rule out a localization-specific (French) problem, but Yast again crashed on me as I was doing so:

YaST got signal 11 at YCP file Language.ycp:756
/sbin/yast2: line 385: 19218 Segmentation fault $ybindir/y2base $module "$@"
"$SELECTED_GUI" $Y2_GEOMETRY $Y2QT_ARGS

Do the yast2 log files contain any additional information about this crash - or does this crash happen before anything gets locked? Please add the logfiles if they do contain information.

Seems to be have been a temporary hiccup.
