When YaST encounters problems with package dependencies, the description of the problem doesn't wrap (in both Qt and ncurses version) - see attached image. In the Qt version this is very annoying, in ncurses this can lead to string truncation (see bug #307199).

No, they don't. They shouldn't get that wide in the first place. The solver API describes how to break up over-long messages into multiple lines.

Because the LATER and REMIND resolutions have been removed, the resolution of this bug has changed from LATER to WONTFIX. If this bug needs to be reconsidered, reopen it and set a future "Target Milestone for Fix."
