IMHO this is not a bug. Joachim? Configuration name is given from "device name" given by driver/udev *** Bug 308611 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** (In reply to comment #4 from Michal Zugec) > IMHO this is not a bug. Sorry? How can it not be a bug if YaST is mixing the network card names?! If I remove the wireless card, then its name appears correctly so... this is a bug. So it's only displayed incorrectly when the device is configured? Could you attach 'hwinfo --netcard' ('hwinfo --network' isn't very useful in that case)?

hwinfo --netcard
Joachim, no. It's displayed incorrectly by default (from installation), whether configured or not. Only if you press the delete button it's display correctly.
Did a fresh installation with no ipw-firmware installed. Later, on the running system, I've performed the installation of it and YaST displayed the wireless card name correclty. So, this bug only happens if you install the ipw-firmware package during the system installation, I think...
When the firmware is not installed, hwinfo cannot query the features of the device, hence some information is missng. Apart from that, hwinfo output looks fine, it shows the correct name and indicates WLAN. So it must be a YaST issue. Fixed on 10.3 RC1. |
