Description James Ogley 2007-09-08 08:56:52 UTC
I upgraded to the latest Factory overnight and the mail attachment icon in Evolution is missing now.

My icon theme is Tango.

ogley@riggwelter2:~> rpm -q tango-icon-theme
tango-icon-theme-0.8.0-69

The file appears to be in the package:

ogley@riggwelter2:~> rpm -ql tango-icon-theme | grep attach
/usr/share/icons/Tango/16x16/status/mail-attachment.png
/usr/share/icons/Tango/22x22/status/mail-attachment.png
/usr/share/icons/Tango/24x24/status/mail-attachment.png
/usr/share/icons/Tango/32x32/status/mail-attachment.png
/usr/share/icons/Tango/scalable/status/mail-attachment.svg

Viewing those files in eog/inkscape shows them correctly.

We've had variations on this bug pop up several times in the past. You may want to double-check your menus to see whether any others are missing.
Comment 4 James Ogley 2007-09-12 14:49:40 UTC
It just seems that where-ever this icon is supposed to appear it is missing
Comment 5 Dean Sawash 2007-09-16 21:58:27 UTC
confirmed, and here's another icon that's been missing: http://img212.imageshack.us/img212/7089/screenshot1zr3.png
Comment 6 Mark Gordon 2007-09-17 14:34:28 UTC
The link in Comment #5 is not actually another icon, but rather another place where that same missing icon ought to appear.
Comment 7 Mark Gordon 2007-09-20 19:22:12 UTC
The icon in question is stock_attach, which is evidently gone upstream:

Srini, see #8.
Comment 11 Srinivasa Ragavan 2007-09-22 13:07:21 UTC
JP http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=476040#c2 says that a rebuild of g-i-t fixes this. And this patch was pushed to trunk and not to gnome-2-12 branch.
I feel that something needs to be done at g-i-t with new icon-naming-utils.

JP, GNOME is out of freezes now and if nothing else can be done, I can push the same patch to the branch also for 2.12.1 and which in turn can be taken into OpenSUSE 10.3
Comment 12 JP Rosevear 2007-09-26 23:56:51 UTC
I think we should just take the evolution patch as a maintenance update, because it seems correct not to rely on a legacy icon.
Comment 13 JP Rosevear 2007-09-28 13:41:48 UTC
Srini, can you prepare an update for this? Use the general 10.3 swamp id. It would be awesome to have this for 10.3 public launch.

Comment 26 Andrew Jorgensen 2007-11-08 17:51:50 UTC
The comments indicate that this was fixed in October. If that's the case why do I still see the bug in evolution-2.12.0-4 x86_64?
Comment 27 Forgotten User eDPGYP6_cn 2007-11-12 11:32:20 UTC
Do you have "Standard update repositories" enabled in your yast community repositories/sources ? evolution-2.12.0-5.2 is what is the latest as I am typing.
Comment 28 Andrew Jorgensen 2007-11-12 18:13:43 UTC
It appears that I didn't. Should the update repository have been configured when I installed? I have since configured it but am disappointed that it wasn't already configured.
