Description Petr Baudis 2007-09-11 12:42:06 UTC
If you click on opensuse-updater-kde when having no network, you get huge blob of error messages all mixed together, instead of clean error message that network is just offline.

Opensuseupdater is only able to know the network status when (k)networkmanager is used to control the network interface. When (k)networkmanager is used opensuseupdater does not check for updates until a network connection is established. In case networkmanager is not used opensuseupdater runs zypper and shows the error massages produced by zypper.
