Description Axel Braun 2007-09-11 20:18:10 UTC
Not sure if this is a translation or a technical problem.
First I check with zypper:

a30:/home/axel # zypper refresh
Repository 'http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/SL-Factory-non-oss/inst-source-extra/' is up to date.
Repository 'http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/openSUSE:10.3/standard/' is up to date.
Repository 'openSUSE-10.3-DVD 10.3' is up to date.
Repository 'http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/Community/openSUSE_Factory/' is up to date.
All repositories have been refreshed.
a30:/home/axel # zypper lu

Then I trigger opensuse updater in the kicker. Result: Unable to check whether updates are available.
Is this now a bug or should it read: No updates available?

Comment 2 Axel Braun 2007-09-11 20:39:00 UTC
Update: Looks like I have to change the title of the bug to: Online update configuration does not add update source.
I didnt add this during installation, but afterwards. http://download.opensuse.org/update/10.3/ was not added.
After doing so manually, it works.
Comment 3 Thomas Göttlicher 2007-09-20 13:14:14 UTC
opensuseupdater-kde shows "Unable to check whether updates are available" if no update repo is defined.

You are right, online update configuration should add an update repo.

> I didnt add this during installation, but afterwards.

How did you add it?

> http://download.opensuse.org/update/10.3/ was not added.

So was it added or not?

As none of my tests failed and this report was for beta3, I will close it now.
Please reopen if you still have problems with the final release.
