Description Fred van Zwieten 2007-09-20 22:35:46 UTC
Wireless is correctly configured, but it doesn't autoconnect on startup/login. Wireless is configured in yast and has an enry in kwallet, where kwallet is passwordless. in /var/log/Networkmanager is find this:

Sep 21 00:24:57 pegasus NetworkManager: <info> Activation (eth1/wireless): association took too long (>60s), failing activation.
Sep 21 00:24:57 pegasus NetworkManager: <info> Activation (eth1) failure scheduled...
Sep 21 00:24:57 pegasus NetworkManager: <info> Activation (eth1) failed for access point (DRADIS)
Sep 21 00:24:57 pegasus NetworkManager: <info> Activation (eth1) failed.
Sep 21 00:24:57 pegasus NetworkManager: <info> Deactivating device eth1.

After the timeout, I choose my ESSID from the list in knetworkmanager, and it connect's without any problem. Driver is ipw3945

Looks like the SuSE specific bits in NM which parse wireless networks from /etc/sysconfig/network/$file are not working as expected.
Comment 2 Fred van Zwieten 2007-10-14 18:45:13 UTC
I did a complete online reinstall of 10.3 GM (x86_64) (1CD KDE) a few days ago. After adding ipw3945 to SUSPEND_MODULES, I can't break it. It autoconnect on every boot for a number of days. I'll keep monitoring this for another week and then I declare this bug as closed, but maybe other's have problems still.

Given that its been a few days already since your clean install, I'm going to close this for now. Please do re-open Fred if you are able to reproduce. Being broken after suspend/resume with ipw3945 is bug 310889.
