Description Scott Reeves 2007-09-24 16:36:21 UTC
New install of RC1 from LiveCD. On subsequent login I got a popup window titled "openSUSE Updater" with the window contents of "1 mandatory updates are about to be installed". Clicking on the details button I expect at a minimum to be told what the mandatory update is - ie package name or something. It would be nice to also see information about what installed/available versions are, what the update contains/fixes, ...

What I got instead was the generic package selector screen with nothing preselected. Zero information about the proposed update so unfortunately in this case useless information. Then clicking "Accept" on this screen just closes the dialog and does nothing. But the original updater popup is also now gone.

Rating this as critical as I think most people are going to want to know what the mandatory update is but clicking the details button actually in effect cancels the update and does not give any useful information.

Josh, do you know what's going on here?

This has been fixed by not calling the generic package selector anymore. Now online_update is called, which shows all mandatory updates (to be more precise all patches)

Close it as dup to #326244
