Description ben haggaer 2007-10-02 14:05:20 UTC
I try to shutdown my machine (Acer 1522wlmi) but it will not stay down, instead it reboots requiring me to hold down the poweroff button to actually keep it off. This behaviour is seen on every occasion.
I don't know which logs would be helpful to provide here, please advise.

Problem only seen after update (clean install using DVD) to opensuse 10.3rc1, I used all the other betas with no problem.
uname -a  -> 2.6.22.5-25-default #1 SMP 2007/09/18 05:23:45 UTC x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

Still present in 10.3 GM release. Forcing a hard-shutdown of my machine is not only annoying but potentially could break my system, this is the only thing spoiling an otherwise excellent product.
As mentioned, this regression must have been introduced between Beta3 and RC1.

If the next version of SLES/SLED is to be based off this release is it not rather worrying to have computers spontaneously rebooting when their owners think they have been safely shutdown?
