Description Rastislav Krupansky 2007-10-15 18:55:25 UTC
Hello.
I've already tried forums, but nobody knows answer probably.
I use KDE, font Tahoma and style qtcurve (it doesn't make any difference), but i'd like to use also the same fonts and style for smart (and for all gtk apps).
In Kcontrol is everything enabled. And GTK Styles and Fonts has the same fonts and style also.It works great except smart (snapshot user)
But when i want to change fonts and style for root account, there is a problem. It doesn't work for me.Fonts and style in smart and YaST are different. In KDE control center are GTK styles and fonts enabled also. But via gnome-control-center it doens't work.(snapshot root)
When i use command "smart --gui", smart'll look correctly (snapshot smart), but it is only in readonly mode.So i can't install.
Why doesn't it work for root user?Is any way how could you repair it?
Thanks for any advice.

Are you actually logging in as root when it doesn't work or are you just running it as root from the command line with 'su' or 'sudo'?

I´ve tried both alternatives.

No, but it didn't get unmarked as need info. You can do that by checking off the:

Removing NEEDINFO status, needed information already provided.
It's your turn:-)

Any news?Does anybody work on this? Are you going to plane solving this issue in openSUSE 11.0?
Comment 10 Hans Petter Jansson 2008-05-28 21:15:50 UTC
This seems to still be an issue with openSUSE 11.0. It complains about not being able to start gnome-settings-daemon when running as root. However, the settings I tried seemed to take effect on the next login.

Moving to 11.0.

Ping :-)
Any news?
Comment 12 Hans Petter Jansson 2008-08-03 22:29:27 UTC
Rastislav: In openSUSE 11.0, do the settings take effect after configuring them, then logging out and back in as root?
Comment 13 Rastislav Krupansky 2008-08-04 19:05:49 UTC
No, it doesn't :-( Just to be sure attached snapshot. On the left side is application under user, on the right side under root.
