Description Eberhard Harbrink 2007-10-17 16:24:10 UTC
Installing the patch java-1_6_0-sun-1.6.0.u3-0.1 (i586 on a x86_64-machine) doesn't update the symlinks in /etc/alternatives.
Comment 1 Juergen Kirschbaum 2007-10-19 06:50:10 UTC
It's the same on i586 on a x86_32-machine.

From bug334783

quote:
"After looking at comment 16 and 17 from thomas and Bryen:

/usr/sbin/update-alternatives --auto java
got java working again! Before it was not recongnized as a command on console.

/usr/sbin/update-alternatives --auto javaplugin
got javaplugin working, but only in konqueror. Still does not work in firefox.

Using 10.3 x64, with latest java 1.6.0.u3 x64 update, x86 java plugin and x86
firefox."
Comment 3 Marc collin 2007-10-20 23:55:10 UTC
/usr/sbin/update-alternatives --auto java

don't change nothing...

javac is not recongnized
