Description Forgotten User 9WJQF5tTlz 2007-10-26 16:21:34 UTC
I launched the Online Update tool to install software patches and additional new packages.

While "retrieving" some packages, a popup panel appeared indicating that the package failed the "integrity" test. I clicked on "Skip" and continued. The "Progress Log" should indicate the failure, it just shows output like the one below:

  Retrieving gcc-info...OK
Installing ./suse/i586/gcc-info-4.2-24.i586.rpm: "The system GNU Compiler
    documentation" OK
  Retrieving xorg-x11-libXau-devel...OK
  Retrieving xorg-x11-libXdmcp-devel...OK
  Retrieving xorg-x11-libfontenc-devel...OK

which does not make it clear to the user that there was a failure.

After all the good packages are installed, I restarted the online update again and found warning sign icons on the patterns list. I reselected the failed packages and tried again. The packages installed ok.

The warning icon (and others now shown in the patterns list) is not documented in the Help menu.
