Description Forgotten User --EoyBps8f 2007-12-23 18:34:38 UTC
I installed opensuse 10.3 with all official updates, including the hplip one. I set-up a HP LaserJet 3050 which did work on a 10.2 with hplip 2.7.7.

The user I am working with is a member of the lp group.

The problem is that the printer is in status "stopped" after the computer boots and one has to use localhost:631 + root to start it. Adding the printer via YaST does not help either.

If the printer is started, it does print.

As a workaround I set DisablePrintersOnRemoval=no in /etc/cups-autoconfig which seems to help. But this cannot be right, since it makes sense to disable the printer when it is un-plugged. Just that it should be re-enabled when plugged again, which does not work.
