Description Adrian Quintero 2008-02-02 20:39:28 UTC
Just to inform that in your regional settings you have set Mexico under Central and South America, the thing is that Mexico is in North America, even in OTHER 0penSuSE distros Mexico is under Central and South America and that is totally incorrect. Mexico is in NORTH AMERICA.

THANK YOU!!!
Comment 1 Jozef Uhliarik 2008-02-21 15:19:22 UTC
It seems to be a problem of installation
Comment 2 Adrian Quintero 2008-02-21 16:12:07 UTC

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geography_of_Mexico

... a country situated in southern North America. Comprising much of Middle America ...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Middle_America_%28Americas%29

Middle America is a region in the mid-latitudes of the Americas. In southern North America, it comprises Mexico, the nations of Central America ...

http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/Middle%20America

1: the region of the western hemisphere including Mexico, Central America, often the West Indies, and sometimes Colombia and Venezuela

http://www.britannica.com/eb/topic-381099/Middle-America

Main article: Middle America
... (or, generally, from the southern border of the United States to the northern border of Colombia), marking the territorial transition from North America to South America. The difference between this designation and “Central America” is that Middle America includes Mexico;

cultural divisions
... The term Middle America is sometimes used to designate Mexico, Central America, and the West Indies collectively.

on the other hand, there is a New Mexico, which is located in US:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Mexico

The State of New Mexico ([njuːˈmɛksəkoʊ]; is a state in the southwestern region of the United States of America.

Anyway, it doesn't seem to be problem of installation :) but "YaST country"
-> jsuchome
Comment 4 Jiří Suchomel 2008-02-22 12:13:05 UTC
Hm... but we don't have North America region in time zone selection. Maybe I could create Mexico as its own region (just like USA, Canada, Argentina...). Stephan, what do you think?
Comment 5 Adrian Quintero 2008-02-22 15:10:23 UTC
mmm,

May be this can help; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mexico

United Mexican States

The United Mexican States[2] (Spanish: Estados Unidos Mexicanos (help·info)), or commonly Mexico (IPA: /ˈmɛksɪkoʊ/) (Spanish: México (help·info) IPA: [ˈmexiko]), is a federal constitutional republic in North America. It is bounded on the north by the United States; on the south and west by the North Pacific Ocean; on the southeast by Guatemala, Belize, and the Caribbean Sea; and on the east by the Gulf of Mexico.[3][4] The United Mexican States is a federation comprising thirty-one states and a federal district, the capital Mexico City, which is one of the world's most populous cities.

Hey, I'm not arguing with you :-)

See comment 4, I only said that we currently don't have North America region in yast2 timezone module and it wouldn't make sense to create it just for Mexico. I'll probably go the way of creation special region for Mexico. Coolo, any comments?
Comment 7 Adrian Quintero 2008-02-22 15:42:46 UTC
Sorry I missunderstood,
I thought you were waiting for more info regarding the location of Mexico.

Done in yast2-country-2.16.10 (which means: it will be available in openSUSE11)
