so - memory test only fails from inside a VM but not on bare metal? did you try iso-image from http://www.memtest86.com/download.html and does that make a difference ? you may also try esx builtin ramcheck - see http://www.xtravirt.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=106&Itemid=65 not sure if it`s in 3.0.2 already. memtest in early opensuse 11 builds seems to have issues, please try alpha3/factory see https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=355044 Memtest86 v3.4 seems to run just fine. I only ran it for the first five tests, though (the CPU demand was starting to trigger DRS migrations). Oops; forgot to hit the NEEDINFO switch! FYI: Problem is also in Alpha 3. Beta 2: Ran the memory test up to 35%( had to stop there as I was triggering mass VM migrations again); looks good. Kudoes. Does it still fail with 11.0 final? Nope; seems to work just fine, now. Thanks. (Forgot to flip the silly switch.) You're allowed to set this to "fixed" directly, I think :-) |
