I tested zypper using a URL, this is what I got

zypper in http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/GNOME:/UNSTABLE/openSUSE_Factory/i586/gftp-2.0.18-108.23.i586.rpm

Problem: nothing provides requested gftp == 2.0.18-108.23
 Solution 1: do not install a solvable providing gftp == 2.0.18-108.23
Choose the number, (s)kip, (r)etry or (c)ancel> 

I also tried downloading the RPM first. The result was the same.

I saw this, too, will look at it.

This is due to temporarily disabled plaindir repo support

Is this still disabled on alpha 3 ?
