I installed xorg-x11-driver-virtualbox on my virtual Factory install. It pulled in the -debug kernel and the vbox modules are only available for the debug kernel. So I restart the guest and try to boot on the debug kernel and receive the following message in VirtualBox;

This kernel requires the following features not present on the CPU:
0:6
Unable to boot - please use a kernel appropriate for your CPU.

The host is openSUSE 10.3, Fully patched with virtualbox-1.5.2-10.2


The modules should be available for all kernels, not only the debug one.

VirtualBox itself is only available for the -debug kernel as well.

so for which kernel do you want it to be available? there is only the debug, default and the pae kernel and each of them have a kmp: 

virtualbox-ose-kmp-debug.rpm
virtualbox-ose-kmp-default.rpm
virtualbox-ose-kmp-pae.rpm

the xen kernels kmp's are currently disabled from building.

When I installed xorg-x11-driver-virtualbox it pulled in the debug packages. I don't know why. Perhaps there's an issue with that package then?

virtualbox-ose is dependent on virtualbox-ose-kmp. If multiple versions are available (debug, default, pae), you should be asked to select one.
What could happen was, that the virtualbox-ose-kmp-debug was the only available at that moment (and it was installed without asking).

Is it so, that virtualbox-ose-kmp-default is still not available?

I can't find any kmp packages for virtualbox anymore. Only virtualbox-ose-guest-tools

How is this bug fixed? Are we not going to provide VirtualBox anymore?
