Description Forgotten User ZhJd0F0L3x 2008-02-20 13:08:29 UTC
After a resume from suspend to disk, the machine does not switch back to the X display on VT7.
Investigating the issue, it looks like the s2disk process gets aborted, but only after restoring the image, so manualls switching to VT7 is possible.
If i move away /etc/splashy/config.xml, everything works fine.

Reproduced in QEMU. Sorry, only a screenshot :-)

Note that i _need_ to give alt-sysrq-k (Secure Access Key, kills everything on the current terminal), to be able to switch back to X. Without sysrq enabled, this will lead to a dead machine.

As a workaround, you can move away /etc/splashy/config.xml, do "mkinitrd". You won't have a splash screen during suspend and resume, but it will work.

I'll care...

i945 video laptop - exactly the same behaviour as in duplicate bug 362719. Notice that after resume if I press power button machine shuts down correctly. I attach shot of console output after pressing power button and <esc>.
