Description Markus Elfring 2008-02-26 18:37:19 UTC
This is a follow-up on the feature request "Improve support for fast user switching" (bug #355468).

An identification can be chosen by the tool "fast-user-switch-applet 2.20.0"
(http://ignore-your.tv/fusa/) in GNOME. But it is not transferred and reused in
the GDM login manager. The user name must be entered again.
Comment 1 JP Rosevear 2008-03-06 18:17:35 UTC
This is being done with the new gdm 2.21.x
Comment 2 Hans Petter Jansson 2008-04-17 06:14:07 UTC
The new GDM will unfortunately not be introduced in openSUSE 11.0, but we'll likely take it for 11.1.
Comment 3 Markus Elfring 2008-04-17 14:21:51 UTC
Is the KDE login manager also affected by this software design aspect?
Comment 4 Hans Petter Jansson 2008-04-19 05:09:14 UTC
GDM will use D-Bus and its own user switching applet to accomplish this. I don't know what KDM will be doing.

Cc'ing Dirk as he seems to have dealth with a number of KDM bugs in the past. Dirk, do you know the answer to comment #3?
