Description Casual J. Programmer 2008-03-02 10:09:12 UTC
During a clean install from alpha2 DVD both network cards are detected properly (e100, ipw3945) selecting the ipw3945 shows a remark:

"Unable to configure the network card because the kernel device is not present"

After installation hwinfo shows:

hwinfo --network
37: None 00.0: 1070a WLAN

NEEDINFO won't go away so trying a dummy comment here.
Comment 4 Michal Zugec 2008-03-10 12:03:54 UTC
It seems to be duplicate of bug #354141
Look there and try workaround, please
Comment 5 Casual J. Programmer 2008-03-13 18:58:12 UTC
Actually in the meantime I found that yast2 lan has a tab "Hardware" in "Network Card Setup" that lets you change the device name. Changing it here to WLAN0 solves the issue. And, yes, it is the same issue as bug #354141
