Description Carlos Robinson 2008-03-06 19:18:12 UTC
While YOU is doing its job in one workspace (gnome), Firefox suddenly dies on another workspace. There is a popup saying something about "gecko" crashing (what is gecko?). This doesn't happen every time, but it does now and then. I have three reports:

gecko-bugreport-20080111.txt
gecko-bugreport-20080212.txt
gecko-bugreport-20080306.txt

that I will attach later. The last one corresponds to the moment YOU was installing these:

  Mon Feb 25 2008 xorg-x11-driver-video 7.2-189.2
  Wed Mar 05 2008 cups-libs 1.2.12-22.9
  Thu Feb 28 2008 wireshark 0.99.6-31.5
  Thu Nov 08 2007 sqlite2 2.8.17-88.1
  Wed Mar 05 2008 cups-devel 1.2.12-22.9
  Wed Mar 05 2008 cups-client 1.2.12-22.9
  Wed Mar 05 2008 cups 1.2.12-22.9

I don't know what YOU was doing the other two times, but I could guesstimate if you want.

If you want YOU logs, say so before they get rotated.

Further: when I restart Firefox, it notices it crashed and offers to reload what I had opened - and fails on all tabs but the first one of the first window, using nearly 100% while failing to reload. I can't even see what it is attempting to reload.

I've seen crashes in SeaMonkey as well for some updates.
I'm not sure what causes it to happen yet.
If you ever notice that behaviour with one certain update please let us know. I will also try to find a minimal testcase.

Doesn't the crashlog say anything interesting?
