Description Rusty Howell 2008-03-11 17:29:07 UTC
When you want to adjust the time/date settings in Yast, it reads the entire rpm database and the zypper database and takes a really long time to load.

Steps to reproduce:
 - Open Yast2, and select the Date & Time module
 - Click on "Change..."to adjust the time
 -

Expected results:
 - next window should pop up and I should be able to change the time

Actual result:
 - progess bars of scanning the RPM database and the zypper repos.
 -

How often does this happen? Always.

Is there a reason that the Date & Time module needs to scan the rpm, zypper databases first? This doesn't seem logical.

This has been fixed long time ago in factory (y2-ntp-client 2.16.2), however not in 10.3 final. See bug #327336, comment #21 for explanation
