Yast2 starts but does nothing.

What I already did:
1. tried http://www.linux-club.de/ftopic88116.html last entry.
This did not work out.
2. Reinstalled whole system
Yast2 worked again, but after an online update yast2 showed wired Xwindows stating for example: "No such client module sw-single"
 smart update
 smart install zypper 
 smart install boost
 smart install libzypp 
solved the error message problem but now yast2 is doing nothing when clicking for example "online update"

Package Management seems to get worse every version.
As a long term SUSE user I'am now thinking of sticking to an other distribution.

Reinstalled the whole system. If I do an online update during installation process yast2 still fails.
The I reinstalled again doing no online update during installation. This worked out.
After successful installation I had to do several online updates do get a (now) running system.

If you have logfiles from the failing updates still , please attach them

Well, I don't think so. At least my system is (after several installation runs) running again and is up to date.
If someone has an installation and reinstalls the system (using the downloaded DVD) he has to skip the online update during installation run (and do it later).
Otherwise YaST2 fails.
I (unfortunately) do not have a log files from YaST (see https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=373187) any more.

I don't think we have any chance to investigate this further without logs.

And I don't quite see the connection with bug #373187. save_y2logs doesn't need that. See also the bug reporting FAQ.

I agree, it's hard to investigate without logs, sorry for that.
