Description Rodrigo Moya 2008-03-24 12:52:57 UTC
Updating last night to latest version of kernel-pae (and kernel-source) resulted in an unbootable system.

Got a boot CD and after mounting the disks in the system, I saw the device for the kernel in /boot/grub/menu.lst was:

  root (/dev/disk/by-id/scsi-SATA_Maxtor_6L300S0_L60J50KH-part1)

changing that to:

  root (hd0,0)

as it was for the previous kernel fixed it.
