There's no scaling implemented, so I can't do growing things. Alright, maybe just fading in the overlay 'spotlight' and then the text would work. I'll prepare the spotlight part for you, ok? yes, would be nice Just one thing: cdboot/parts/menu/background.png is noticeably smoother than grub/theme/background.png. Is that intentional? #10 I'm not exactly sure what you mean by smoother? the cdboot welcome screen background is flat, while the grub background has a gradient. Do you mean that the screen in the actual grub screen sufferes from color banding? The spotlight part is at https://forgesvn1.novell.com/svn/opensuse-art/trunk/cdboot/parts/spotlight.png. If you think alpha compositing is too slow, I could also make the whole background a duplicate with the spotlight and you'd fade the whole thing in, but I'm not sure that would be faster. #11) Could be. What I meant is that, e.g., the ripples in the lower right corner are more visible in the grub variant. I didn't have the time to get the spotlight part in. :-( |
