openSuSE 11.0 Alpha 3 install is hanging on my T43 laptop when detecting the disk drive.

I strongly suspect this could be a duplicate of these two defects from previous OS releases:

Is this related to Bug 371997?  In which case, you could try hwprobe=-parallel,-misc.par as a work around.  If that fixes the problem, then this is probably a duplicate.

Thanks for the tip.   Yes, using "hwprobe=parallel,-misc.par" in the Installation boot options got me around this error.   Closing duplicate.
