Ping, any taker?
Comment 2 Ales Nosek 2008-04-17 13:41:01 UTC
Hi Stephan,

I'm sorry but updating Eclipse would need too much effort. I had been working some time on rewriting the Eclipse spec file which will be ready today.

I suggest staying on the version 3.3 for openSUSE 11 and putting updated Eclipse into Build Service later when time permits.

I would then post the link here for people who would like to install 3.3.2 version from BS.

You can download updated Eclipse packages from:

http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/anosek/openSUSE_Factory/

Eclipse packages are divided into noarch and archdep. You need to install all packages:

eclipse-jdt-3.3.2-88.2.noarch.rpm
eclipse-platform-3.3.2-88.2.noarch.rpm
eclipse-3.3.2-88.2.noarch.rpm
eclipse-pde-3.3.2-88.2.noarch.rpm
eclipse-source-3.3.2-88.2.noarch.rpm

libswt3-gtk2-3.3.2-89.1.i586.rpm
eclipse-archdep-platform-3.3.2-89.1.i586.rpm
eclipse-archdep-gtk2-3.3.2-89.1.i586.rpm

Comment 4 Alberto Passalacqua 2008-05-16 02:32:16 UTC
I reopen it because this request was done in alpha phase, during the month of april, and the release date is june. As a consequence there was plenty of time to package and provide the latest version of Eclipse.

I might agree that it's not extremely necessary, but if these request are rejected in alpha phase, when should we do them? One release for the other?

Regards,
Alberto

Hi Alberto,

I can understand your dissatisfaction. As Eclipse includes crypto stuff the deadline to submit the updated version was actually on Apr 7 (crypto freeze).

We will do better next time. For now, please, take the packages from BS. Thank you.

Few weeks before feature freeze and Factory still only contains version 3.3.

Any chance to have the current version 3.4 in openSUSE 11.1?
