Description Jonathon Robison 2008-04-11 20:05:43 UTC
Running 11.0 in a VirtualBox. 512M memory, 32M video assigned to VirtualBox.

EVERY time I start konsole (as a user), it crashes with Signal 11.

Started from an XTerm, I get:
========================================
jrobiso2@vbox-11a3:~> konsole
<unknown program name>(20074)/: Communication problem with "konsole" , it probably crashed.
Error message was: "org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoReply" : " "Message did not receive a reply (timeout by message bus)" "

KCrash: Application 'konsole' crashing...
sock_file=/home/jrobiso2/.kde4/socket-vbox-11a3/kdeinit4__0
jrobiso2@vbox-11a3:~>
==================================================

If I "su -" in an xterm and run konsole as root, it works. Here are the contents of that .kde4/socket-vbox-11a3/ directory:

-rw-r--r--  1 jrobiso2 users   98 2008-04-11 15:35 KSMserver__0

root's .kde4 directory has no socket subdirectory.

Should be already fixed for Beta 1.
