Description Pascal Künzli 2008-04-13 10:42:42 UTC
Mainboard: ASUS P5B
Controllers used: Intel 82801HB/ICH8 (onBoard), HighPoint RocketRAID 1740
RAM: 4 GB (BIOS-side Memory Remapping activated)

The controllers (listed before) are detected on boot (TTY0 - Alt+F1; drivers loaded for AHCI (Intel) and sata_mv (Highpoint). But in the GUI Installation screen the installation program "hangs" at "Probing Hard Disk Controllers".

At TTY7 (Alt+F8) I only see X-Server messages.

Please always check the Most Annoying Bugs http://en.opensuse.org/Bugs:Most_Annoying_Bugs_11.0_dev

The work around can be found in bug 371997:
Type hwprobe=-parallel,-misc.par at the installation bootmenu.
