Description Hubert Figuiere 2008-04-28 17:43:07 UTC
I have installed the Hypervisor and tools, but no VM yet.

If I click on "virtual machine manager" in YaST, it does not open.
The console show this:

libvir: Remote error : No such file or directory
libvir: warning : Failed to find the network: Is the daemon running ?
libvir: error : this function is not supported by the hypervisor: virConnectNumOfNetworks
libvir: error : this function is not supported by the hypervisor: virConnectNumOfDefinedNetworks

I guess it is a case where the UI should show something instead of nothing.

if I have a virtual machine effectively running, it does not start either, but this time even the console is silent on the reason why does not even start.

This looks like there may have been some kind of an error during the installation of libvirt. Normally, the library has all of those symbols defined.

Let's try this again on an 11.1 build (beta 4 or later would be best).

If you see the same error, could you specify the version of the libvirt rpm, and attach the output of the "nm -D /usr/lib/libvirt.so.0" command?

If you don't see the same error we can close this, as some kind of installation glitch.

ok, in 11.1 it starts. Then it complains, but that's because I haven't rebooted in the Xen kernel
Comment 4 Doug Merrill 2008-12-05 01:22:41 UTC
It looks like this has been resolved, so we'll close it for now...
