Moving relevant information from bug #384924.

The correct external console to use should be handled in platform services. On Windows it should use the proper windows terminal (there is a joke in there somewhere), on OS X use whatever they have, and on Linux, the terminal to use should be provided by the running Desktop Environment (mostly provided by the fix for bug #384924).
