When we tried to connect to a hidden encrypted wireless network, it failed.  Sometimes we did get an ip address but could not pass data.  Most of the time we could not even get an ip address.  When  we tried to join a broadcasting non-encrypted wireless network (open-public) we had no problems.

Please attach /var/log/NetworkManager after a failed attempt.
