Description Jakub Steiner 2008-05-04 09:44:37 UTC
Something more fancy, nicely animated and GreyGreen styled.
Comment 1 Stephan Binner 2008-05-05 14:03:25 UTC
Animated!? Who told you that's supported?
Comment 2 Jakub Steiner 2008-05-05 18:13:23 UTC
No javascript in that widget then?
Comment 3 Jakub Steiner 2008-05-05 20:55:15 UTC
I was thinking of something like this --

http://greeter.jimmac.net/

Comment 4 Brandon Kruse 2008-05-09 06:59:33 UTC
Wow, thats really nice.
Comment 5 Lubos Lunak 2008-05-23 15:09:22 UTC
Maybe nice, but probably not doable. I can't see how I could get it done even statically with QTextBrowser (e.g. the close button), let alone animated. I give up, I've wasted already enough time on this :(.

Comment 6 Jakub Steiner 2008-05-23 15:59:26 UTC
I was under the impression we used khtml in the past.

This is about the best I can do.
Comment 8 Jakub Steiner 2008-05-23 17:32:02 UTC
If all you need is the background image -- https://forgesvn1.novell.com/svn/opensuse-art/trunk/greeter/bg-head-800x58.png
Comment 9 Lubos Lunak 2008-05-23 18:00:29 UTC
Submitted.
Comment 10 Lubos Lunak 2008-05-23 18:04:37 UTC
Already submitted with background that I created from the original, which is slightly different now that I look at this image, but I hope nobody really cares, nobody's going to notice the difference anyway.

Comment 11 Jakub Steiner 2008-05-24 15:21:40 UTC
From the attachment the logo seems to be mispositioned (some image clipping?) and there's a weird stripe on the left side.
Comment 12 Stephan Binner 2008-05-26 10:05:12 UTC
Degrading as new artwork was submitted.
Comment 13 Lubos Lunak 2008-05-26 12:57:00 UTC
I don't know how to avoid the stripes at the edges, maybe Qt bug. And the logo is where HTML rendering put it. Can't we just call those features? Most people are going to see this for a few seconds once in their lives before they click it away anyway.
Comment 14 Jakub Steiner 2008-05-26 14:59:12 UTC
The only thing worse than an annoying nag screen is an ugly looking annoying nag screen :(.
Comment 15 Stephan Binner 2008-06-03 18:17:30 UTC
I guess further changes are WONTFIX at this point of release process. :-)
