Description Quentin Jackson 2008-05-06 04:46:03 UTC
Opensuse 11 has a wonderful looking new setup screen, unfortunately there are no widescreen resolutions to choose from making the fonts look a little less beautiful than on a 4.3 panel. Since there are probably 50% of us using widescreen now it would be nice to have a widescreen setup resolution (or perhaps even default to it going forward) rather than the default 800x600.

I assume you mean the graphics resolutions you can choose from at the installation boot screen. Right?

Steffen, do we need to rely on VESA resolutions here, or can we add non-VESA resolutions, too?
Comment 2 Steffen Winterfeldt 2008-05-06 09:59:15 UTC
Sorry, we are limited to what the VESA BIOS offers; and the concept of
widescreen displays hasn't caught on with Video BIOS developers yet.
