Description Johannes Meixner 2008-05-06 14:07:12 UTC
In yast2-printer set the connection manually
via [Add], "Directly Connected printers", "Parallel Printer",
"First Parallel Port", "Queue Name" and "[X] Do Local Filtering".

This leads to the "Printer Options" tab where "Driver Options"
can be set but this is useless unless one changes to the
"Basic Setings" tab and selects the model manually.

Regardless of the "[X] Do Local Filtering" one can just finish
and gets a "raw" queue (no PPD in /etc/cups/ppd/).

When I do the manual connection config for USB,
I get during "Finish" an error popup
"An erreor occured while saving queue ...
 Try selecting the model again."
which is nonsense at this time because I cannot do anything here.
The same for "Network Printers".

There is new yast2-printer module which fixes most of the bugs. If this problem occurs in this version, please reopen bugreport.
