Description Jigish Gohil 2008-05-15 20:48:08 UTC
opensuse-education is working to create a openSUSE-Edu addon media for 11.0.

Could we have openSUSE-Edu listed in Repository Management and Addon media during installation.

The following online repositories are required (11.0 is not in OBS yet).

http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/Education:/desktop/

http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/Education:/server/

Addon media would be a DVD.

Please don't link to the OBS repositories as they don't contain all desired packages and are sometimes "unstable". (The education team doesn't make use of the "publish" feature, yet, as they like to test their packages without registration.

Please use the "official" and stable repository instead:
http://www.opensuse-education.org/download/repo/1.0/11.0/

BTW: same for 10.3 already:

Also please make the Edu media visible on download.opensuse.org as not many people would know that there is such an addon for openSUSE.

I won't add that. This repo replaces e.g. bc and cmake - this is far from an addon repo.

For the edu media link on download, it was already discussed to have a Remix/Addon wiki link on the software.o.o page. Reassigning to the web team for tracking

Robert, not sure if you're the best assignee here.

Interesting argument: So you'll delete the packman community repository as this also replaces existing packages?

Comment 6 Stephan Kulow 2008-06-04 12:23:38 UTC
packman is not part of my list, yes.
Comment 7 Lars Vogdt 2008-06-04 16:39:43 UTC
FYI: I'm using "yast2 add-on" -> "Community Repositories" and there is a "Packman" repository beside other build service repositories.

So you tell me that this list of community repositories will change for the GM?

control.xml =>
http://download.opensuse.org/YaST/Repos/openSUSE_110_Servers.xml =>
http://opensuse-community.org/openSUSE_110_Community_Additional.xml =>
"[...]
<name>Packman Repository</name>
[...]
<url>http://ftp.skynet.be/pub/packman/suse/11.0/</url>
[...]"

So I'm reassigning this to Francis: can you please add the openSUSE-Education repositories for 10.2, 10.3 and 11.0
http://www.opensuse-education.org/download/repo/1.0/$DIST
to your list?
Comment 8 Francis Giannaros 2008-06-15 09:25:24 UTC
Sorry for seeing this so late, not sure how I missed it. Away from my home machine for a few days so I cannot access that server, but cyberorg can, so reassigning to him.
