Description Bernhard Friedreich 2008-05-17 19:50:17 UTC
When changing the screen resolution with nvidia-settings (in my case from 1280x1024 to 1680x1050) the screen resizes correctly but plasma doesn't realize it should resize too.

It just stays the same size.. the panel resizes and moves to the bottom correctly but the desktop itself (wallpaper, clickable desktop area, icons) just stays the old size.

Steps to reproduce:

open nvidia-settings
change your screen resolution
click apply and you'll see the effects

After a restart of the X-Server everything is fine again.

I can confirm this: same problem with ATI card.

Can anyone reproduce this still with KDE 4.1[rc] packages?

yap..

tested with kde-four-live 1.0.98 in a vmware (with open-vm-tools installed)

auto-fit and xrandr resizing shows that plasma does not react.

linux@linux:~> rpm -q kdebase4-workspace
kdebase4-workspace-4.0.98-12.1

This works fine for me with the Factory packages.
