X and plasma are using 40-60% of cpu usage each (top output):

Workspace effects of kde are disabled.

CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T7300 @ 2.00GHz

VGA: Intel Corporation Mobile GM965/GL960 Integrated Graphics Controller

I activated the 3d-support in sax2.

what infos do you need to find the problem? perhaps its a similar problem like #391799
Comment 1 Stefan Dirsch 2008-05-21 13:23:32 UTC
Yes, I think so.

*** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 391799 ***
Comment 2 Stefan Dirsch 2008-05-29 01:01:57 UTC
reopen.
Comment 3 Stefan Dirsch 2008-05-29 01:03:50 UTC
This is no longer a duplicate of a NVIDIA driver bug. I think the issue here is that KDE4 enabled desktop effects by default. IIRC this has been fixed, so this is no longer done.
Comment 4 Daniele Frijia 2008-05-29 08:28:58 UTC
If you mean the "Arbeitsflächeneffekte": They are not active on the machine.
Comment 5 Stefan Dirsch 2008-05-29 08:39:26 UTC
Yes, "Arbeitsflächeneffekte" is probably the translation of "Desktop effects".
Comment 6 Daniele Frijia 2008-05-29 08:42:36 UTC
Hm...as they are not activated...should the bug not be reopened? the status is "RESOLVED FIXED"...
Comment 7 Stefan Dirsch 2008-05-29 13:56:18 UTC
I cannot reproduce this issue on a 965GM machine with openSUSE 11.0 RC1. 3D is enabled, desktop effects are not. plasma/X are both around 1% CPU load.
Comment 8 Daniele Frijia 2008-05-29 14:02:37 UTC
Can I send some infos? debugoutput, strace etc.?
Comment 9 Christian Hoffmann 2008-06-04 19:14:25 UTC
Got the same problem here on a laptop with ati graphics (driver radeon). CPU usage is around 60% for plasma and 25% for Xorg.
