Description Lukas Lipavsky 2008-06-09 08:46:43 UTC
In openSUSE 10.3 it was possible to run user defined action in some predefined situations (on connect, on disconnect, etc). This was useful for (e.g.) automounting nfs shares dependig on where I connected, etc. (it was possible to run shell script which can do virtualy anything depending on where you connected, etc.)

I cannot find this setting in openSUSE11 :( would it be possible to re-add it? It made the life much easier... Or is there any other way to get same effect (in user friendly way)?

Yes, that's definitely needed. Unfortunately we had not enough time yet. Maybe that can be fixed with an online update.

Lukas, are you referring to the dispatcher scripts or to the KNetworkManager notifications?
Comment 3 Lukas Lipavsky 2008-06-11 08:48:11 UTC
I'm not absolutely sure since I don't have opensuse10.3 instaed ATM, but I think it was called notifications (what I remember: you were able to play sound, display popup, run command, etc as reaction to event - all was set up in the same window, so probably it was "notification" and not "dipatcher script").
